As this training focuses on essential safe working practice, teachers may be entitled to fund this course through their school’s health and safety budget.
TARGET GROUP
Drama teachers, lecturers, technicians and anyone working within performing arts. A very basic understanding of lighting would be useful although no previous experience is necessary. The course is also intended to refresh and update the skills of the more experienced.
OVERVIEW
This exciting, accessible course will equip participants with a clear understanding of how to use their own equipment effectively and safely to unlock the creative potential of the resources available to them - however limited!
Throughout the day delegates will gain confidence and knowledge through hands on experience with equipment commonly found in schools and colleges.

Professional Lighting Designer & Education Specialist - Ben Willetts
Ben’s professional theatre work includes productions for The Royal Exchange, The Lowry, Chester Gateway Theatre, Bolton Octagon, LipService (National Tour) and most recently lighting design for Arcane Dance’s national tour of 59 Seconds.
Ben has run workshops and training in schools, colleges & universities internationally for the last 7 years. His recent education projects include work for Creative Partnerships and the International Schools Theatre Association (ISTA)
